Amazon’s desire to see other cities — revealed by its search for a second headquarters home — hasn’t always cast Seattle in the most flattering light over the past year. Amazon’s jilted first love has had to ask tough questions about what other cities could offer that it couldn’t.

Amazon’s advertising division is quickly becoming an important pillar of the company, and another sign of its growth came last week when the tech giant hosted a big advertising conference in Seattle.

Among his dozens of trips, the experience in Qufu, Shandong province, impressed him most.

Amazon’s Jeff Wilke, CEO of the company’s Worldwide Consumer Business, made one of the biggest announcements of the week, unveiling a fully-electric drone that can fly up to 15 miles and deliver packages under 5 pounds in less than 30 minutes. Wilke also showed the array of different sensors that are built into the drones, in an effort to ensure safety during deliveries.

Amazon’s post adds, “There is a recurring pattern to the way President Trump behaves when he’s called out for doing something egregious: first he denies doing it, then he looks for ways to push it off to the side, to distract attention from it and delay efforts to investigate it (so people get bored and forget about it). And then he ends up doubling down on the egregious act anyway.
